Terms of Use

DuelEdge is a research and decision-support tool for fantasy hockey managers. It ranks every NHL player by the points he is projected to score in your league — not in a generic one — by taking the sportsbook lines already published for goals, assists, shots, blocked shots, power-play points and goalie saves, and scoring them against your own Yahoo Fantasy league's category weights.

DuelEdge tells you what its model projects. Every decision — adding a player, dropping one, setting a lineup — is yours, and is made in Yahoo Fantasy, not here.

DuelEdge is not a betting product and is not a gambling service. To be unambiguous about each part of that:

• DuelEdge does not accept, place, broker or transmit wagers of any kind.
• DuelEdge charges no entry fee and operates no contest, pool or league of its own.
• DuelEdge holds no stakes and handles no money other than the price of a subscription to the software.
• DuelEdge awards no prize, payout or thing of value based on the outcome of any game or contest.
• DuelEdge does not tell you to place a bet, does not publish picks or betting selections, and does not claim that using it will produce a profit.

DuelEdge reads publicly published sportsbook lines because they are the market's best available estimate of what a player is likely to do in a given game. It converts them into projected fantasy points under your league's scoring rules.

That is the entire role odds play here. A line appearing in DuelEdge is not a suggestion that you bet on it, and DuelEdge is not affiliated with any sportsbook.

You must be of the age of majority where you live. DuelEdge is not offered to children and is not designed for them.

During its first season DuelEdge is available by invitation only, and invitations are being issued in Québec. Being on the invitation list does not guarantee an invitation, and joining it costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

You need a Yahoo Fantasy account to use DuelEdge, because DuelEdge works from your own league's settings. You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself.

When you connect your Yahoo Fantasy account, DuelEdge reads your league's scoring settings, your roster, and which players are available in your league. It uses that information to produce your rankings and for nothing else.

DuelEdge does not post, trade, add, drop or change anything in your Yahoo account. It reads. You act.

You can disconnect at any time. Doing so stops DuelEdge from reading anything further from Yahoo.

A projection is an estimate of what may happen, produced by a model from public data. It is not a prediction, a guarantee, or advice. Hockey does not cooperate with models: players get hurt, goalies get pulled, lines get shuffled an hour before puck drop.

DuelEdge does not promise that following its rankings will improve your results, and you should not use it as though it did.

DuelEdge is sold as a subscription that renews for successive periods until you cancel it. The price, the length of each period and the currency are shown to you before you subscribe, and no charge is made before you have seen them and agreed.

If a free or reduced-price trial is offered, you are told in writing, before it ends, on what date it ends and what the price will be afterwards.

Payment is processed by our payment provider. DuelEdge does not store your card number.

You may cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect the moment you send your notice. You are charged only for the service actually provided up to that moment; anything you have paid beyond that is returned to you. There is no cancellation fee, penalty or indemnity of any kind.

The cancellation policy sets this out in full and forms part of these terms.

Do not:

• Resell, redistribute or republish DuelEdge's projections as a product of your own.
• Scrape, harvest or bulk-extract data from DuelEdge by automated means.
• Share one account among several people, or resell access to one.
• Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service.

DuelEdge is new, and parts of it depend on services operated by other companies — Yahoo Fantasy above all. If one of those becomes unavailable, features that rely on it may stop working.

If DuelEdge is discontinued, or a feature you are paying for is withdrawn, you will be told, and you are entitled to the return of anything you have paid for service you have not received.

DuelEdge is provided as it is, and the projections it produces may be wrong.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits the legal warranties you have as a consumer, or our liability for our own fault, where the law does not allow that to be excluded. Where the law permits a limitation, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the twelve months before the event complained of.

If we need to amend these terms, we will send you a written notice at least 30 days before the amendment takes effect. That notice will set out only the amendment: the new or amended clause, the clause as it read before, the date the change takes effect, and the fact that you may refuse it and cancel your subscription at no cost.

We do not change these terms retroactively, and continuing to use the service is not treated as your agreement to an amendment you were never shown.

DuelEdge is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Yahoo.

Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Yahoo Holdings Inc.

These terms are governed by the laws in force in Québec, and any dispute is to be brought before the courts of Québec.

You are not required to submit a dispute to arbitration, and nothing here prevents you from joining a class action.
